]]>Although medicinal mushrooms combined with cannabis may sound like a formula dreamed up potheads, it is actually a unique product offered by Israeli company Cannabotech.

The company is working on a range of products that not only combine the compounds found in mushrooms with those in cannabis, it changes the ratios they naturally occur in to increase their effectiveness.

“We believe that in a few years, there will be no differentiation in cannabis growing. There will be no difference between most of the farmers, just like farmers who grow food,” says Cannabotech cofounder and CEO Elchanan Shaked.

“Every cannabis plant has 30-40 cannabinoids that are active in the body and a total of several hundred cannabinoids. We believe that the secret to the plant’s activity lies in cannabinoids that appear in small quantities in the plant. If you change the ratios between them and increase their concentration in the final product, very high medical effectiveness and unique compounds for the treatment of various diseases can be attained,” Shaked declares.

The company has developed five such products to date for treatment of colon cancer, unexplained infertility, fatty liver, reduction of inflammatory activity, and heart and vascular diseases. These products are awaiting clinical trials.“Globes”: Many cannabis patients swear by the virtues of the complete plant, in which the ratio of the ingredients is the same as in nature. How will you convince them that a different ratio of ingredients is better? Shaked: “We’ll use science to show them. We believe that the entire industry is moving in this direction. Today, only 1% of the population consumes cannabis. We believe that far larger population groups will consume scientifically demonstrated special compounds for specific diseases.”

The compounds are being developed with the help of Prof. Fuad Fares, one of the inventors of the technology used by Prolor Biotech, which developed delayed-release technology for protein-based drugs.

This technology makes it possible to inject drugs at intervals of a week or longer, instead of daily. Several companies are planning to develop cannabis compounds in which the ration of active ingredients in the plant is altered.

What is special about Cannabotech is the inclusion of mushrooms. “Penicillin originates in mushrooms, as does chemotherapy,” Shaked says. “The benefits of mushrooms have been the subject of research for thousands of years. Prof. Solomon Wasser has been researching mushrooms at the University of Haifa for decades. He has huge libraries containing ingredients from mushrooms and the information that he has gathered over the years about treatment using them and their interactions with other ingredients.”

“536 grams of gummy-style soft candy laced with THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) was recently discovered during a traffic stop,” the department wrote. “This candy looks very similar to regular ‘gummy bear’ or ‘sour patch’ type products.”

The department is now urging parents to go through their kid’s candy and take extra precautions during the holidays.

They offered the following tips:

  • ALWAYS inspect your children’s candy prior to consumption. Never eat anything that is suspicious or not in an originally sealed manufactures packaging. If in doubt, throw it out!
  • Use glowsticks, flashlights or reflective tape after dark for increased visibility.
  • Chaperon all children under 12 years of age.
  • SLOW down when driving. Pay attention to the increased pedestrian traffic.
  • Ensure your child’s costume fits properly to avoid trip/fall and choking hazards.

Authorities in Pennsylvania recently warned parents to check their children’s candy this Halloween after finding Nerds Ropes containing 400mg of THC during a search warrant in Stoney Creek Township.

]]>A dangerous and deadly drug is popping up disguised to look like weed (…if you’re not too familiar with how cannabis looks).

KUTV obtained an internal law enforcement bulletin describing the trend. The bulletin warned law enforcement agencies across the country to be aware of the potential dangers.

“I think a lot of death could come from this, I think — a lot of people stepping into the realm of overdose unexpectedly,” recovering addict Chris Ruflin said of the photos.

“I think a lot of teenagers, I think a lot of the younger generation, is going to end up getting ahold of that,” Ruflin said.

These fakes have been seen in Ohio and Canada so far. KUTV reached out to multiple law enforcement agencies in Utah, who all said they have not seen this product on the streets yet.

“When you start seeing something anywhere in the U.S., there’s a good chance it’s going to spread across the country,” said Sgt. Brandon Shearer with the Salt Lake City Police Department.

That’s not only dangerous for drug users but for unsuspecting officers who think they might be handling weed when it’s actually fentanyl, which is much more deadly to the touch.

“You don’t know where it came from, you don’t know how it was made, and you’re really taking a huge personal safety risk by taking those substances in,” Shearer said.

]]>A couple of Montana men who were stopped by the police while driving through Douglas County last March with more than $4 million in cannabis and other contraband will get off with little more than a warning after a judge ruled Tuesday that the seizure was illegal.

Aaron Myren, a Minnesota state trooper with a track record of making large drug busts, said a cracked windshield and unsteady driving led him to stop Jared Michael Desroches, 31, of Missoula, and Alexander Clifford Gordon, 24, of Helena.

Desroches was driving and Gordon was a passenger. A search of their Chevrolet pickup truck and camper turned up 900 pounds of pot, 406 one-gram packages of THC concentrate, 112 glass jars containing THC wax and $15,500 in cash. According to Myren, Desroches said he expected to be paid $30,000 to move the contraband, which the State Patrol estimated was worth $4.25 million on the street.

Interstate 94 has become a busy corridor for cannabis smuggling in recent years. Myren said he was initially alerted to the truck because it’s unusual to see campers at that time of year.

After watching the video of the stop taken by Myren’s squad car, St. Paul lawyers Paul Applebaum and Hillary Berit Parsons, who represent Desroches and Gordon, respectively, filed motions to suppress the evidence as the result of an illegal search.

“The video played a huge role in us getting it tossed out because a lot of it didn’t match up to what he [Myrens] was saying,” Applebaum said in an interview Wednesday.

Despite Myren’s claim that a camper going southbound on I-94 in Douglas County was noteworthy at that time of year, at least five other campers were seen on the video traveling past them during the stop, Applebaum wrote in his motion to suppress the evidence.

Myren also had testified that the pickup was weaving across the fog-line as he trailed it. But the video cast doubt on that as well.

“The squad video, which essentially records from the same vantage point as Myren’s, shows that the pickup never crossed the fog-line — it merely touched it once for a fraction of a second and proceeded flawlessly for a substantial distance before Myren pulled it over,” Applebaum wrote.

District Judge Timothy Churchwell ruled that the cracked windshield was sufficient to cause to stop the vehicle, but he found that Myren lacked reasonable grounds to expand the traffic stop into a search of the vehicle. Thus, the drug seizure was unconstitutional and the evidence must be suppressed.

Without that evidence, there was no probable cause to charge the two men, so Churchwell dismissed the charges.

]]>Ricardo Monreal, the Senate leader of Mexico’s ruling party MORENA, said lawmakers will vote on a bill to legalize adult-use marijuana by the end of October, according to Marijuana Moment.

“We’re thinking that we’ll bring the law out, approve it, at the end of October,” Monreal said. “That’s the schedule we have.”

The chamber is almost finished with creating a new reform bill that is based on open-session debates and public forums, and the Chamber of Deputies will be invited to weigh in on the bill, Marijuana Moment reported.

Mexico’s Supreme Court has ruled five times that the country’s ban on recreational cannabis is unconstitutional. Mexican law states that when the court rules in the same direction five times, it becomes a binding precedent.

Last year, it said that the government must legalize the drug by October.

Last week, Mario Delgado Carillo, the chairman of the Political Coordination Board of MORENA, Chamber of Deputies, filed legislation to legalize and regulate cannabis, suggesting the government should run the market to avoid industry monopolization by big companies.

]]>The number of vaping-related illnesses has surpassed 1,000, and there’s no sign the outbreak is fading, U.S. health officials said earlier this week.

We just came across this video about a man in Amarillo, Texas who was recently on the news regarding lung illness. The news station fully blamed it on vaping normal e-liquid. However, after speaking with the patient, some crucial information has surfaced.

If you want to find out more about the topic, this video will provide some interesting insight:

After watching the video it’s pretty obvious that fake THC carts caused the issue. Sadly, the man was not able to remember all the brands he bought but he mentioned TKO and Cookies Carts. These two brands are known to have a big issue with counterfeits. If you want to find out how to avoid fake carts, make sure to read our article about the topic.
